The Bahamas

The Bahamas is comprised of hundreds of islands and cays over a sizable area – more than 100,000 square miles – located off the Atlantic coast of Florida and extending southeast towards Hispaniola. Ecotourism, boating, beaches, and scuba diving are just a few of the activities that attract thousands of visitors to The Bahamas each year, tourism being a cornerstone of the economy. Trademarks and service marks are eligible for registration in The Bahamas. The following rules and regulations apply:

  • Prior Use: None required

  • Classification: Nice classification (multi-class filings available)

  • Registration Term: 10 years from the date of filing and renewable for 10-year periods

  • International priority: Available 

  • Non-use vulnerability: 5 years
